In a surprising announcement, Barnes&Noble joins Amazon in releasing its own Nook iPad app ebook reader. The Nook iPad is available now as a free download from the iPad App Store.
And to make their iPad app different from Amazon’s Kindle app, B&N brings in some personalization features to the app. These features include – 8 different fonts, customizable line spacing and margins, font sizes as well as themes.

Best feature would have to be the LendMe technology which would enable you to lend ebooks you’ve purchased to other Nook app user. In doesn’t matter what ever platform that user is using for as long as it is the Nook app, you can lend your ebooks to that user.
The Nook iPad also syncs wirelessly to your other Nook app and saves your last page read and bookmarks.
I’m downloading the app right now and will see how it compares with the Kindle app and iBooks for iPad. iTunes Download link here.
