In the iPhone ebook reader app niche, one darkhorse who has been going up against the likes of Kindle, B&N, Stanza and others is Kobo. Actually, Kobo’s iPhone app was pretty sleek. They have a stable catalog of ebooks which you can purchase books from via the iPhone app.

So, it is not surprising then that Kobo would make its ereader app available for the iPad as well. The Kobo eReader HD is now available for download from the iPad app store. Feature-wise, it’s practically the same as other ereader app for the iPad. The app also offers some personalization features for organizing your book collection on a fancy-looking virtual bookshelf.
And since the iPad is being released in various other countries, Kobo is also releasing a regionalized version of the app. This version contains local content, merchandising and currency.
What’s good about the Kobo ebooks is that you can read them as well in other devices or computers as well.
