Amazon Updates Kindle App for iPad to Support Audio/Video in Ebooks

Amazon just rolled out an update to its Kindle App for iPad, this time to add support for playback of audio and video embedded in an ebook. The update which is also available for iPhone and iPod Touch Kindle apps will allow you to listen to audio and watch video on some great ebooks which already have the said feature.

If you want to sample how this new feature works, check out some ebooks with embedded video from the Amazon Kindle store including  -  Rose’s Heavenly Cakes which has video tips on preparing the perfect cake and  Bird Songs with audio clips that relate the songs and calls to the birds’ appearances.

Amazon promises to feature more ebooks with embedded video and audio soon.

Interestingly, the new feature is available only for iPad, iPod and Iphone Kindle apps.
