Sometime in January, during the CES Event in Las Vegas, Parrot which is a popular gaming company debuted its latest product – an AR Drone Helicopter toy. This AR.Drone Helicopter will be released sometime in September for around $379 and is targeting kids and gamers. And guess what you are going to use to control the helicopters flight? – your iPad.
PC World describes the AR Drone as follows:
The helicopter has four fans that allow it to fly in any direction. It streams video from the cameras mounted on its front and bottom back to the controlling device. The software on the phone includes controls to increase and decrease the altitude of the toy and tilting the phone controls the motion of the helicopter.
Sounds cool, right? Wait till you’ve watched the attached video demonstration which was done using the iPhone.
What do you think? Is it worth your $379?
