It was only a couple of weeks ago when Instapaper app was made available for the iPad and now a new version has just been introduced – Instapaper 2.2.5. While this release coincides with the availability of iOS 4 which we all know is not yet available for the iPad, there are some new features however which were specific for iPad.

First thing that you’d notice is that the app is now simply called Instapaper. The developer dropped the “pro” from the app’s name to make it simpler.
As for the functionality and features, the new version of Instapaper now lets you do the following:
- Added swipe-left/swipe-right for page-turning (iOS 4 and iPad only). This helps when you’re holding the device one-handed and can only comfortably reach one part of the screen.
- Added a subtle sideways-motion animation to indicate the direction of each page-turn.
- Rotations are much faster and more accurately keep you in the same place.
- Fixed iPad position-restoring when launched in landscape.
- Fixed minor interface bugs when rotating.
- Now synchronizes your position in partially-read articles between multiple iOS devices, such as an iPhone and an iPad.
