Finally, a game that I’ve been waiting for so long, even just on my iPhone has arrived. If you’re a badminton fan like me, you’d love Super Badminton 2010. Even if this game was made for iPhone and iPod, it also supports the iPad but the display was still not optimized for the larger screen of the iPad.
Quite interestingly, the app looks good on the iPad. Unlike iPhone-specific apps that you run on the iPad, Super Badminton 2010 looks pretty decent. Of course there’s still some pixelation but if you’ve been longing to have a mobile badminton game, you’d hardly notice the limitation in the game graphics.
Gameplay-wise, Super Badminton offers a lot. You can go straight into playing the game via Quick Play, Exhibition, and Tournaments. There is also a brief on-screen tutorial on how to play the game the first time you fire it up.
For controls, you can either use a virtual dpad or joystick. You can deliver short or long serve, do a backhand shot and smash. The Tournament Mode gives you three cups to play which vary in degree of difficulty. You can also collect trophies and view your collection via the Trophy Cabinets.
Overall, Super Badminton 2010 is a pretty good game. Not really that great but considering that this is the first badminton game for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, badminton fans would definitely want to have this game.
Hopefully, the app developers would port the game to the iPad. I can’t wait to play this game in true HD fashion on my iPad.
