For those who refuse to use Apple’s iBooks app to get their ebook reading fix, the iPad offers several alternatives. One of them is Barnes & Noble’s very own iPad app which just got an update and is now being called NOOK for iPad. The change in its name was made to re-align it with the Nook E-Reader device which was recently re-branded as simply NOOK.

Going back to the Nook iPad app, aside from the change in name, the iPad app also brings in one nice feature, a facility for rating books you’ve purchased from the Barnes & Noble e-bookstore and read at your own leisure on your iPad. To rate books, simply tap on the star icon beneath all of the ebooks in the Barnes and Noble Library. NOOK for iPad also includes additional performance enhancements from the previous version.
If you haven’t downloaded NOOK for iPad yet, now is probably the right time to do so and start getting into the e-book reading habit. Here’s the app’s download link.
