Manufacturers of the Next iPad to Ship First Batch of Units in March

We have some fresh rumors about the next iPad coming out from Japanese site Macotakara reporting that Pegatron and Foxconn will start shipping the first batch of the next-generation iPad by March 2012. According to the report, Foxconn got 85% of the production load of the next iPad, while the rest will be handled by Pegatron. Apparently, this division of orders was similar to how the two companies tackled the production of iPhone 4S.

Said rumor validates earlier reports saying that Pegatron will be manufacturing smaller volume of orders for the next iPad. The report also claims that the target date for the next iPad’s availability was pushed a bit by the Chinese New Year celebration which is earlier than the usual schedules the past couple of years. This early festivity is enough for the two manufacturers to expedite the production of the next iPad.

If you still don’t believe that the next iPad will be available as early as March, the fact that some third-party accessory makers already got the detailed form-factor of the next iPad. This will allow manufacturers to expedite the production of the accessories for the next iPad. The report also said that form-fitting iPad 2 cases may not fit in the form-factor of the next iPad.

Another interesting bit of information about the new iPad is that it will allegedly be named iPad 2s. The naming convention follows that of the iPhone with the latest being iPhone 4S.
