If Chaos Rings by Square Enix is a sure candidate to the best turn-based RPG for iPad, Medieval HD is certainly the best Tower Defense game and one of the best games I’ve ever played on my iPad. Medieval HD has all the ingredients that you need to make up for a challenging strategy game combined with lush graphics environment that depicts the Medieval era, deep gameplay and tons of goodies. As a Tower Defense game, Medieval HD gives you enough challenge. In other words, this game is not easy to beat. The enemies will really try to beat you out in destroying your castle or snatching your castle’s emblem before you do it with them. The gameplay is simple. You take control of your troops defending your fortress while at the same time attacking your enemy’s fortress with catapults, cavalry raiders, archers, knights and more. You can purchase weapon upgrades (very, very important) with the cash you earn by beating enemies one after another.

The game lets you use 3 different shooting modes – auto fire, show arc and drag fire which you can set in Options. Choosing the right shooting mode in every level is essential if you want to beat the game because the enemies you would encounter also varies from one level to another.

The game also has 4 levels of game difficulty – fast fire, easy, medium and hard. It lets you use 8 unique weapons such as flaming arrows and multi-shots. Each of these weapons are upgradeable for more devastating effects.

For you enemies, you’d be facing flying balloons with shooting arrows, knights, catapults, and more. I’m telling you, the number of enemies that come out in every level are enough to give you the toughest challenge you’d ever face in a tower defence game.

Overall, Medieval HD is a solid tower defence game that maximizes the fullest graphics potential of the iPad. It’s available for $2.99 from the App Store. Take my word for it, this game is certainly worth that price.

Who wouldn’t be glad about this short, passing-through mention by Steve? After all, we iPad owners, have all been waiting for this for a couple of months now since iOS 4.2 came out for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Anyway, aside from that short mention, Apple has also put up an official software-update announcement for iOS 4.4 for iPad which is slated to be released in November. So, what will iOS 4.2 brings to our beloved iPad in terms of features and functionality. Well, aside from multitasking and app folders which everybody have been craving for, there are few other new features that Apple kept mum about. Specifically, these features include – the ability to print directly to a printer connected wirelessly and wireless streaming of videos, music, and photos from your iPad to the new Apple TV as well as stream music to AirPlay speakers and receivers including AirPort Express.
So, which among these features are you excited to use on your iPad? As for me, I can’t wait to try out multitasking and folder option for app. I’ve amassed quite a number of iPad apps already and browsing through them one screen after another is getting pretty tedious. Can’t wait for November.

While there are many great Twitter apps for iPad (Osfoora, Twitterific, Twittelator and TweeDeck), it’s always different when the Twitter app is the official version. Finally, our wait is over. The official Twitter app for iPad is now available as a free download. There’s one word to describe the app – Panes, as in lots of panes. So, the moment you fire up Twitter app on your iPad, you’ll see the familiar contents of your Twitter account – Timeline, Mentions, Lists, Messages, Profile, Search and your other Twitter accounts if you have set it up already on the app. At the center of your iPad’s screen is the main content pane containing whatever you’ve currently tapped on the navigation bar on the left. Interestingly, the whole content pane occupies only 50% of the iPad’s screen real estate. On the right is a blank black pane. This is reserved for displaying Tweets, Photos, links, and other contents posted by your friends as they appear in the timeline. Tapping on individual tweets will bring up the contents on the remaining part of your iPad’s screen.
Another great feature of the Twitter app for iPad is inline video viewing. So when you see a video link on the timeline, you can tap on it and it will be opened on the right pane. But since loading these videos take some time, you can continue browsing your timeline while the video loads on the right pane.

Twitter app for iPad also makes full use of the iPad’s pinch gesture to take actions on tweet as well as to load author profiles.

Overall, the app is a pretty good one. The fact that its interface offers something different from other Twitter app for iPads make it a worthwhile download.

Does that sound interesting and fun to you? If not, well I suggest you try out the game. You’d be surprised at the adrenalin rush that the game gives especially if you are playing it with your kids.

Graphics-wise, the offers a decent rendering of the cows and food. The game is colorful and adding fun to it is the cool sound effects and folk music that plays in the background.

Is it easy? Well, haven’t beaten my five year old daughter yet so I guess the game is difficult for me or I may just be too slow or my timing is poor.

Farm Frenzy is available for $0.99 from the iPad App Store.

The problem with the Apple iPad Keyboard is that it gives you additional accessory to carry and it won’t fit if your iPad has the Apple Case on. Or even if you are using other iPad cases, chances are it won’t fit into the iPad Keyboard. So, what’s the best solution? How about making an iPad case that also comes packed with a keyboard? Enter the Shenzhen Paoluy Silicone Technology’s new iPad keyboard case. This iPad accessory just made it through the FCC and will most likely be available in the coming days. The iPad Keyboard Case is powered by Bluetooth technology to connect it with your iPad.
You can score this baby from GearZap in UK for $92 a poop. Unfortunately, last time we checked, it’s currently out-of-stock. So, better watch out for that site.
